The Henrico County Courthouse in Richmond VA is the main courthouse in Henrico County, Virginia. Henrico County is an independent city in Henrico County, Henrico County has many courthouses that are dedicated to specific courts or cases. Henrico County’s first courthouse was built in 1819, Henrico County Courthouse is located at 4301 East Parham Road. Getting married at Henrico County Courthouse is a very fast process, Henrico County has a one-stop wedding officiant division. Henrico county does have residency requirements for those who want to get married at Henrico County Courthouse.
To marry at the Henrico County Courthouse you must:
-Make an appointment with one of Henrico’s many wedding officiants.
(you can get married at Henrico County Courthouse on your lunch break or some people do it before work)
-Show proof that you and your partner are eligible to be married in the state of Virginia (this includes marriage certificates and driver’s licenses). Henrico County Courthouse does not accept birth certificates as proof of eligibility.
-Only pay a $10 wedding fee for Henrico County Courthouse, this includes one marriage license that is valid for 60 days.
-Bring your marriage license back to Henrico County Courthouse within 60 days for the county clerk’s office to sign off on it and make it official at the Henrico County Clerk of the Circuit Court office (this is only done during normal business hours).
Henrico County Courthouse in Richmond VA does not have a specific day that you have to get married, but there are many benefits to getting married on Friday, Saturday or Sunday. Henrico County Courthouse is only closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve Day, Christmas Day, New Years Day, and Easter Sunday. Henrico County Courthouse is open from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM every other day of the week. Henrico County does not allow Henrico County Courthouse weddings on days that Henrico County Government offices are closed such as Henrico County Clerk of Circuit Court holiday closings and Henrico General District Court holiday closings unless you make an appointment with a wedding officiant.
-You will receive your marriage license during the ceremony after getting married at Henrico County Courthouse, you can either mail it or bring it back to the Henrico County Clerk of the Circuit Court office.
Every year people get married at the Henrico County Courthouse in Richmond Virginia. Ceremonies are limited to 15 minutes in length so as not to interfere with other businesses in the building. It is a great way to get married in a quick and simple way.
The Richmond circuit court marriage license costs $28 and is valid for 60 days. If you want to get married by the Henrico County Clerk or Deputy clerk of court, they will charge you an additional fee depending on their salary grade.
You do not need a witness if your spouse-to-be is also getting married at this time. The deputies and clerks can sign as witnesses if you have no other witness or family member with you.
You can get married at Henrico County Courthouse between 8 a.m to 5 p.m, Monday through Friday, and from 9 a.m to 12 noon on Saturdays.
